Recipe: Roasted Red Pepper Biscuit Pull-Apart

This Roasted Red Pepper Biscuit Pull-Apart is a quick and easy addition to just about any meal… I get bored with plain biscuits… so I like to change things up a bit… and this is a perfect way to do it.

Biscuit Pull-Apart recipes vary with topping ingredients… I must have dozens of soft cover cookbooks with probably as many recipes for Pull-Aparts in them… I believe years ago a Pull-Apart was a contest entry and people have been making variations ever since… I know I have…

We eat some sort of pasta dish at least once sometimes twice a week.. with a small salad and some sort of bread… we like garlic bread.. but sometimes I’m in the mood for something a little different… that’s when I do something like this… the roasted red peppers and olives along with the cheese and seasonings can liven up a basic pasta meal.

What makes this recipe doubly nice… you use canned biscuits for the base…. I know… shoot me… this is partially homemade… look out for the blog snob… I can see the nose in the air now… but it is easy and it’s good.. and in my book… that’s all that matters.

TIPS

You can use any brand canned biscuits… I would use the small ones… the “Grands” are just too big for this kind of recipe.

If you’re not a fan of olives or roasted red peppers… put whatever topping you prefer on it… chopped red and green peppers… or chop some pepperoni … use your imagination!

I use Italian Seasonings… mine is by McCormick… it happens to be a really good mix of herbs.

You can brush the top of the dough with olive oil… or use cooking olive oil spray… which is easier and less clean-up.

I recommend you press out the biscuits then arrange them… if you arrange them first then press them you end up pressing them together too much and they get difficult to pull-apart… press them out to spread them… then arrange them with a small overlap… and gently press them down to attach them to each other… don’t overlap too much.

This is a perfect little addition to a weeknight meal… quick and easy!

Recipe: Roasted Red Pepper Biscuit Pull-Apart

All you need:

1 can (10 small biscuits) Pillsbury Biscuits
¼ cup jarred roasted red pepper strips
3 tablespoons sliced black olives
About ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Olive oil cooking spray
Italian Seasonings
Garlic powder

All you need to do:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

Separate the biscuits and press them out to larger rounds.

Place 1 biscuit in the center of an ungreased baking sheet.

Place the remaining biscuits in a circle around the middle one…overlapping each just a little.

Gently press the overlapping parts together.

Spray lightly with olive oil cooking spray.

Arrange the roasted red pepper strips over the dough, leaving a little border around the edge.

Sprinkle the sliced olives over the dough, leaving a little border around the edge.

Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella over the top, again, leaving a little border around the edge.

Sprinkle with garlic powder and Italian seasonings.

Bake at 400 degrees F. for 12-15 minutes until the crust is golden and the cheese has melted.

Serve hot.
